Eliop Seinalia (CAF Group) has set up the Rabat Teleoperated Control Center for Railway Electrification and Remote Substation Management for the Moroccan Railway Network. The ONCF management team attended the Teleoperated Center opening ceremony.
The Control Center is part of the contract between Eliop Seinalia and the ONCF (Office National des Chemins de Fer) to renovate all the electrical substations powering the Moroccan electrified railway systems with teleoperated control systems for remote management.
The contract, currently being implemented, also includes renovating the 55 existing substations, outfitting them with the teleoperated control system, the communications and fiber optic networks, the fire protection systems, intrusion detection systems and two main Control Centers to oversee the entire network. The Rabat Center has been the first of such centers to start operating.
The ONCF contract was the result of an international tender process awarded to Eliop Seinalia as part of the Moroccan Railway modernization and renovation process. This is the first modern control center implemented by the ONCF.
The system will also serve the new High Speed lines and substations that are now being designed and planned for Morocco.
The Teleoperated Control Center for Railway Electrification solution is based on the potential of the SHERPA System and the ELITEL RTU’s, for control and supervision of the substations. The contract for this turn-key project includes design, engineering, supply, installation, start-up process and subsequent maintenance of all the equipment and systems implemented at the Control Centers and all field equipment associated to the Railway Network.
Eliop Seinalia has presence in Morocco, being one of the reference companies for the ONCF in terms of Railway Signaling Systems, Traffic Control Center, Electrification Telecontrols and other railway solutions.
