CAF Signalling will supply the company’s Auriga OBS solution for CAF’s 118 CIVITY NS trains to be delivered in the Netherlands, with revenue service scheduled for late 2017.
This contract provides for the design, manufacturing and testing of the AURIGA OBS system with the two-cab configuration, and includes also the supply and integration of the STM ATB system required to run on Dutch lines not fitted out with ERTMS. This contract, consolidates CAF Signalling’s AURIGA OBS showcase in the European market.
The integral on-board system platform AURIGA OB developed by CAF Signalling supports ERTMS Levels 1 and 2. It allows interoperability beyond national borders, and is compatible with different manufacturer systems. The system ensures highly available and safe train operation.
As a result of the extensive know-how on rolling stock gained by the CAF Group, and the Company’s experience in integrating diverse on-board equipment solutions on rolling stock of all types, CAF Signalling contributes with an extensive engineering capability for the integration of signalling and testing in rolling stock refurbishment projects in addition to its own ETCS (European Train Control System) on-board technology.
