Auckland Transport has awarded CAF Signalling with a new contract to equip 72 electrical multiple units (EMUs) with the “AURIGA OBS BL 2 ERTMS/ETCS+ AURIGA ATO” on-board system in New Zealand.
AURIGA is the comprehensive solution developed by CAF Signalling for the European Railway Traffic Management System (ERTMS).
AURIGA OBS ERTMS has been designed to carry out the safe supervision of train movement with a high degree of availability and fail-safe performance. Likewise, AURIGA ATO provides an automated solution to help to drive the train in accordance with planned timetables, maximising energy savings and providing better passenger comfort and convenience.
It should be noted that the AURIGA OBS has already been chosen for a significant number of projects; for example, 118 Civity EMUs for NS (Holland), 98 Civity EMUs and DMUs for Northern Arriva (UK), 30 Civity EMUs for the Toluca–Mexico City commuter train (Mexico), and Oaris, the super high-speed train for RENFE (Spain).
This new contract awarding helps to strengthen CAF’s position in Australia and New Zealand.
AURIGA es la solución integral desarrollada por CAF Signalling para el Sistema Europeo de Gestión de Tráfico Ferroviario (ERTMS).
Por una parte, AURIGA OBS ERTMS se ha diseñado para llevar a cabo una supervisión segura del movimiento del tren con alta disponibilidad y funcionamiento a prueba de fallos. Mientras que el AURIGA ATO realiza una conducción predecible de tren que se adhiere a las tablas de tiempo planificadas; maximizando de esta menera el ahorro de energía y una mejor comodidad de los pasajeros.
Cabe destacar, que el sistema AURIGA OBS ya ha sido elegido para un número significativo de proyectos como 118 civity EMUs para NS (Holanda); 98 Civity EMUs y DMUs para Northern-Arriva (UK); 30 civity EMUs para el Tren Interurbano de México Toluca (México); y el Oaris, el Tren de muy alta velocidad para RENFE (España).
Con esta nueva adjudicación refuerza su posición en Australia y Nueva Zelanda.
