CAF Signalling is in the design phase of the signalling project for the Cuiabá tramway system, which includes: the power remote control for the turnkey contract for the civil works, electromechanical systems and the supply of new tram units for the Cuiabá metropolitan region, the capital of Mato Grosso state in Brazil. The project was awarded to Consorcio VLT Cuiabá which is made up of CAF, CR Almeida and Santa Bárbara.
This work and supply is an important strategic contract as it is the first turnkey tram system in Latin America, and as it is an important commitment to the development of passenger transport in Cuiabá, one of the hosts to the 2014 football World Cup.
